  • VIN Verification
    • The VIN verification for vehicles previously titled or registered anywhere other than the United States or U.S. Territories must be completed by a DMV Compliance Examiner/Inspector. Please call 941•723•4551 to schedule an appointment.
    • For vehicles previously registered in Vermont, if the vehicle is more than 15 years old with only a Vermont registration as proof of ownership, the VIN verification must be completed by a DMV Compliance Examiner/Inspector. Please call 941•723•4551 to schedule an appointment. Vehicles with a Vermont Certificate of Title as proof of ownership may have the VIN verification completed by any of the parities listed in the first section.
    • Brand new vehicles (never titled or registered), trailer type recreational vehicles (travel, camp, fifth-wheel trailers), off-highway vehicles, vessels, and trailers weighing less than 2000 lbs. do not require VIN inspections prior to titling/registering.
